In the area of the sexuality of animals the Organization for Animal Dignity sees a very big need for action to improve human appreciation of the dignity of the animal. To achieve this improvement, the Organization for Animal Dignity has three priorities:

1.) Enlightenment and Assertion of Truth

In the area of sexuality of animals it must be possible to fully and without any taboos practice complete enlightenment and to speak the full truth everywhere and at any time without any consideration for losses in regards to morale, religion, economy, prestige, etc., even if this does not suit or please certain establishments of animal users or even the government as representative of an animal using (democratic) society, perhaps because economic consequences or reconstructions could result from it for that particular use or keeping of animals.
This entails but is not limited to freedom of speech, freedom of information and freedom of the press in text, film, image and other documents which can or should be used to serve the purpose of enlightenment and to show and describe the truth.

2.) Fight against sexualized violence

When priority 1 is fulfilled and the truth can be spoken openly and freely, without fear of repressions, it becomes possible to act against sexualized violence and sexualized abuse of power in connection with animals concretely. As a part thereof we especially consider sexual mutilations of animals such as the cutting off of testicles or ovaries (castration) or the female genital mutilation of mares (caslick operation) or genital mutilation of stallions (penis redirection on testing stallions). Another form of sexualized violence is also handling and keeping of animals, which does not or not enough consider the sexuality and gender of an animal and therefore is not appropriate to the species. Other forms of sexualized violence are sexual interactions with animals against the will of the animal, even if no visible injuries or harm result from them. Such is the case with animal experiments in the area of sexuality, artificial insemination of and semen collection from animals without their consent and against their will and finally, even if in relation this happens only to very few animals, also other sexual interactions which do not take place with the consent and the will of the animal.

3.) Sexual assistance

When priority 1 and 2 are fulfilled, the third and last priority is sexual assistance.
Sexual assistance for the Organization for Animal Dignity is not about all animal keepers having to satisfy the sexual needs of the animals they keep, even if the thought of animal protection and the animal protection law essentially hold them responsible for that. For that the big majority of all animal keepers is actually lacking not only in competence, ability and empathy for their animal, but in the very most cases also in the necessary specific knowledge and finally also in will and readiness for it.
Because of that the Organization for Animal Dignity only wants sexual assistance for an animal to be accepted and honored by law and finally also by society as that which it is in ethical regards: The best of all solutions for the animal, if it is carried out correctly and if the animal's need for sexual satisfaction cannot be satisfied in a better way.

As the areas of these three priorities widely penetrate and overlap each other and as with limited resources not the same amount of improvements can be achieved everywhere for the dignity of animals, in our opinion the realization of all three priorities must be pursued at the same time.
