The Consequences of the Belief that Animals don't like Sex

The combination of all the previously mentioned groups which believe that animals don't like sex, gives women who don't like sex themselves, were brought up religiously and with a "teaching-animal" that was artificially desexualized through castration. Besides religious fanatics, these people are often the most convinced that animals do not like sex. And it is exactly this group which makes the vast majority of all people in animal protection organizations. And it is therefore their view of animals which strongly dominates and prevails in animal protection organizations.

It is no surprise therefore, that animal protection organizations lack the resources and the knowledge to deal with animal sexuality not only in a species-appropriate manner, but even with sexuality in general. And thus, also with animals in general, because all animals have a sexuality which should and must be considered, accepted, respected, protected and dealt with responsibly and above all, ethically and in accordance with animal rights as a part of every animal, just like any other part, if one does not want to destroy the respect for animals.

The fact that animal protection organizations, the very guardians of animals, have a false view of animals because of their structural composition of a majority of people who think animals don't like sex, is a very grave issue for animals and their protection and rights. Despite people "thinking" that sexuality is not an important issue in connection with animals, I am convinced of the exact opposite. I believe it is the primary cause which hinders progress in the area of animal rights and animal protection today. Sexuality and being ethical in the area of sexuality is connected inseparably with the dignity one bestows onto and the respect one has for another. One cannot properly respect another and his or her dignity, by treating his or her sexuality unethically. An this is irrelevant of the other's species.

The correct institution to teach respect for animals is not the government, not the law and not the local animal protection organization. The right institution to teach respect for animals is the animal itself.
So why of all institutions, do we castrate precisely that one? Especially if we understand the paramount importance that respect of animals has, both for individual animals as well as for animal protection and animal rights in general?

If the first institution, the animals themselves are eliminated as teachers for respect through their castration, the second institution, animal protection and animal rights organizations come to bear. Or would, if they could only handle this job properly. But because they fail too, because just like castrated animals as well, they cannot teach about animal sexuality and animals' right to an own sexuality and therefore true respect for animals, society in the end also comes to believe that animals don't like sex.

Castrated animals cannot convince society otherwise. And animal protection organizations that are convinced that animals don't like sex because of their composition of people who believe so, cannot teach society otherwise either. The obvious end result is a society which believes that animals don't like sex, and that hence, it were O.K. to take away their sexuality. Like of a slave without any rights, even over his or her own body. And this in turn renders the status of animals in society to slaves, to mere objects and cements it.

As such, the castration of animals is much more than just a sexual or bodily mutilation. It is a ritual, a ritual of society of breaking an animal's rights, of taking away its "personhood" status forever, of rending it to a mere slave for life. And that has a more negative effect on animal protection and animal rights than anything else. It is a true wicked circle and only breaking it by abolishing animal castration in favor of contraception methods such as
vasectomy and tubual ligitation will improve the status of animals in our society, will bring animal protection and animal rights out of the rut that they are stuck in, will greatly reduce animal suffering in the end.
