December 31'st, 2007:
Both the subject of castration and horses as a species are very important topics
for animal protection in a wider sense and both are grossly overlooked by most
other "animal protection" organizations. In our new leaflet The Mutilation of Animal Protection you
can find out why these two topics are very important for animal protection.
December 27'th, 2007:
I (Mark Schmid) have written and sent the Minister of State, Mrs. Doris Leuthard a worthy
reply to her letter regarding sexual contact between humans and animals. On 10 pages I hope
to briefly mention the most important aspects to consider in such a difficult and demanding subject.
My letter is available in German only and was added to Correspondance with Minister of State Doris Leuthard.
December 24'th, 2007:
Peter Singer is the "inventor" of animal rights, the father of the animal
rights movement and easily the most competent man and the leading authority
worldwide on the subjects of animal protection, animal rights and ethics
in connection with animals.
He is a Professor of Bioethics and is currently at the University Center for
Human Values at Princeton University, USA.
Peter Singer is a true scientist, which is rare in animal protection,
and as such is not motivated by pleasing the public, or by popularity,
but by finding and communicating the truth. In 2001 he shocked many
"animal conservationist" wannabes with his groundbreaking and
revolutionary article "Heavy Petting",
also published on www.nerve.com, abut sexual interactions between humans and animals.
We are very proud and thankful to have been granted permission by professor Singer
to publish "Heavy Petting" here on our website.
Thank you very much Professor Singer!
The Swiss Minister of State, Doris Leuthard replied to our letter about
the efforts of religious fundamentalists which want to criminalize human-animal
sexual interactions in Switzerland. Her letter was added to the Correspondance with Minister of State Doris Leuthard.
December 19'th, 2007: We need your Help! was
updated.
December 17'th, 2007:
We have written letters to three of the most prominent animal welfare organizations
in Switzerland and once again demanded an examination of the subject of sexuality which is
important for animals and animal welfare, and once again our request was not answered or denied
categorically with lame excuses (see forum). All our numerous letters and
contact efforts with institutions and the media are also ignored continuously.
That's why we arrived at the conclusion that writing letters and running an Internet site
alone won't cut it. Therefore we have had ourselves official jackets made
(at the private expense of every member himself) and are hitting the street and
public animal welfare activities with them in order to draw attention to today's
problems in animal welfare. For this purpose we also made a leaflet, "Problems in today's Animal Welfare" which we
hand out on the street and during hands-on activities.
Despite our former protests, the swiss population is to be delivered an image
of the animal as a child-object without an own will, without an own
sexuality and without own sexual needs by a general, undifferentiated law against
all sexual activities with animals. An image of a consumer- and usage-object
which supposedly is not capable of communication. This image is a totally
false and degrading image of the creature animal which has severe and
far-reaching negative consequences for animals and their dignity which we cannot
accept. That's why we wrote a Letter to all Members of the Swiss Government to try
to inform the Swiss government about this mistake. To educate about today's
problems in animal welfare, which has a lot to do with this mistake, we
also added our leaflet "Problems in today's Animal Welfare".
November 29'th, 2007:
Religious fundamentalists such as Antoine F. Goetschel and many others have been trying to abuse the Swiss Animal Protection Law to criminalize consensual sexual interactions between humans and animals ever since the internet came up, while totally ignoring forced sexual interactions in the breeding industry and even furthering the severe and totally needless sexual mutilation of thousands of animals each year. We are doing what we can to try to stop this religious speciesism and concealed hatred against animals from ignorant, lying and false "animal lawyers" and "animal welfare people". But without the support from intelligent, ethically schooled true animal protectionists who know the subject matter, who have the brain power to see the dire problem of this development for animal welfare and animal rights and who are willing to take action on behalf of animals who cannot speak or vote for their true interests, we are powerless to the massive onslaught of religious fundamentalism, egoism and ignorance towards animals and their interests in the name of make-believe "animal welfare".
Due to lack of contact with real animals, unfortunately many people these days just don't know enough about animals anymore to see through the lies spread by such religious fundamentalists masquerading as or in their total ignorance towards animals even believing to be "animal protectionists" and "animal lawers".
To inform the Minister of State responsible for the animal protection law in Switzerland about this development which is not only a disgrace for Switzerland, but also illegal by the Swiss constitution, I (Mark Schmid) sent this
Correspondance with Minister of State Doris Leuthard.
November 26'th, 2007:
We changed our slogan in our banner "Animal Protection without Lies"
to "Pioneering Work in Animal Protection" because that more accurately describes
our work.

for all classified adds in connection with horses.
October 4'th, 2007:
Emoticons (smilies) were added to the forum software.
At the moment there seems to be very little interest in animal protection without lies
or in our organization. Although in my opinion I (Mark Schmid) have built up this project
and this webpage far enough that one can tell what it should or could be about, we have gained
almost no new members since the creation of our organization in spring of 2006. The visitor
numbers continue to be very low (10-20 visitors per day, including robots). Therefore
I am reducing my time invested in this project and there will be less frequent updates
in the future.
August 28'th, 2007:
On August 23'rd we got a new active member: Mr. Raymond Beehler
registered a Member Account and donated 15.- US Dollars to us of which we got 14.11 Dollars after
PayPal's handling fees were subtracted. Thank you Mr. Beehler for your important
support and welcome to our organization!
A new link was added to Horse Links.
The Abstract of the Organization for Animal Dignity
was slightly updated.
August 22'nd, 2007:
Based on reader comments we have added two new payment
methods, payment by Credit Card and by PayPal account, which should make it much
easier to support us financially.
Also based on reader comments have changed and improved our Donation and Payment Information.
Now it should be much more clear which payment methods are available for people
who wish to make anonymous payments or donations and which are not.
August 18'th, 2007:
The links pages Horse Links
and Stallion Links
where made acessible to the public and free of charge.
Our Logo Banner was slightly changed.
A page with several banners to link to us was added: Our Banners
An Abstract of the Organization for Animal Dignity
was added.
August 14'th, 2007:
We value COMMUNICATION very high. So to liven things up a little,
we added a Free-for-all-Forum
where everyone can add posts for free and without registering.
August 11'th, 2007:
We have tried to make it crystal clear for everyone in our
Registration, why we encourage our members to use their real name instead of relying
on a false sense of anonymity: Registration

the loss of 2 messages should be solved. A loose CPU cooler has
caused overheating and system crashing at peak load during hot weather.
The cooler was refitted and the pc is running reliably now.
A new title and introduction was added to: We need your Help!
A Member Forum
was added for discussing internal matters among active members.
Based on reader comments we have changed and improved the site as follows: Organization for Animal Dignity Mission Statement
was improved to make it more clear. Our Services in the Area of Sexuality of Animals
was renamed. Our Goal in the Area of Sexuality of Animals (Mission Statement)
was renamed and the prevention of unnecessary castrations of animals was
added as one of our primary goals in the area of sexuality of animals.
July 18'th, 2007:
The FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) about Us were
rewritten once again. I (Mark Schmid) am having a hard time expressing
what our project is about and why I set it up the way I did.
PS: We've lost another email or contact message due to a system crash while sending / receiving.
Our email computer is definitely disintegrating. Please send again if you do not
receive an answer to your message while we are look for replacing our old hardware.
July 16'th, 2007:
We are receiving both positive as well as negative Feedback! with
our new feedback-form. For those people who find nothing good to say about us we decided
maybe we should take them serious. To make it easier for us to decide which negative
feedback can be taken seriously and which not, we added a competence questionnaire to our Feedback!,
where critical people can now prove their competence in regards to
animals and animal protection.
July 10'th, 2007:
Although we have made and continue to make very big
efforts to convince people of our ideas, to support us with donations or
otherwise, or to become members of our organization, none of that has happened.
That's why we want to know from you what we do wrong and therefore ask you for your Feedback!
in our new feedback-form.
July 8'th, 2007: Organization for Animal Dignity Mission Statement
(formerly: "Our Objective") was renamed and updated.
The FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) about Us were
almost completely rewritten.
July 7'th, 2007:
Humanity is not ready yet for a workshop on the
subject of sexuality of animals. Most people don't even know what
spaying / neutering or what vasectomy is. Therefore we are making an effort
to try to pick people up where they are and work on the basics first.
We started this with two new articles, What is Castration / Spaying / Neutering? and What is Vasectomy / Tubual Ligitation / Sterilization?
We also moved the frequently asked questions about sexual assistance
to an own page reserved for members, Sexual Assistance FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
and updated Sexuality of Animals FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
and made it public again to help teach the basics about animal sexuality. General Topics Links
was made accessible to the public.
Several people kept getting the false impression that the goal of our
organization was to make money because of our new kind of unconventional membership
system which we invented because we do not receive enough donations
to help cover our costs. To change this false impression, price tags
on pages which are free of charge or not reserved for members were removed.
June 26'th, 2007: We need your Help! was
added.
A Report on Vasectomy for a Male Cat was
added.
June 13'th, 2007:
The Workshop Sexuality of Animals was
extended with planned and possible subjects.
June 11'th, 2007:
Since we launched our idea of organizing a workshop on the subject of
the sexuality of animals, some people have asked us why the Organization for Animal Dignity
is so small and unknown, why we seem to be so "unprofessional",
why people have never heard from us in the media, why we are not supported by
celebrities and famous people and why not even science or researchers support us.
All these questions are answered in the new article: Why is the Organization for Animal Dignity so small and unknown?
The FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) about Us were updated.
June 5'th, 2007:
As many people asked us about the problem of stray animals
in connection with birth control, Mark Schmid added the
article Stray Animals and Birth Control
A few bugs have been fixed.
May 31'st, 2007:
Together with all interested institutions and people,
the Organization for Animal Dignity is trying to organize a first workshop
in Switzerland on the subject of sexuality of animals. More about it here: Workshop Sexuality of Animals
May 20'th, 2007:
With permission from Dr. Temple Grandin, an excerpt from her
fascinating book "Animals in Translation" about what really makes stallions
"aggressive nutcases" in human "domestication" was added: Temple Grandin on Stallions
Thanks Mrs. Grandin for supporting this project!
Fridolin Steinauer found a lot of bugs in the new forum and thanks to
him they could be addressed and corrected.
May 19'th, 2007: Important Members
was added to About Us.
A few bugs in the new forum have been fixed.
The Imprint has been
updated and our Address and Bank Account Details have
been added.
May 16'th, 2007:
Huge Software Update!
After several months of almost non-stop programming, the long overdue forums are... still
not finished yet, but at least progressed far enough that a working version can be used. Many
functions are not working yet and many bugs must certainly still be found and corrected,
so to start there is only one general forum which at least allows basic communication: General Forum
"Readership" was renamed to "Membership" because that is
more commonly used and some people thought there were both.
Large parts of the Content Management software were updated and many bugs were corrected.
February 12'th, 2007:
Mr. Fridolin Steinauer, a very active member, supporter and
sponsor of the Organization for Animal Dignity since the first minute of its creation
has confirmed to support the project with 288.- Swiss Francs every year.
This sum has become available when Mr. Steinauer cancelled a subscription
for a newspaper which refused to publish an objective reader's letter on the
subject of castration and the dignity of horses.
At this point we would like to thank Mr. Steinauer with all our heart for his
active support on behalf of animals and the truth! Quite in contrast to the
empty lip services which other readers continue to make: Thank you very much
Mr. Steinauer!
Of course Mr. Steinauer, just like all members who actively support the
project, is granted an adequate say in all matters, especially financial
ones, which in view of the otherwise very sparse support of others happens
to be accordingly big!
To insure the 100% financial transparency of all donations, income and expenses
of the Organization for Animal Dignity, an own bank account which was long
planed was opened up for the Organization for Animal Dignity at this opportunity.
This will make it easier to prove that the income of the Organization for Animal
Dignity is not abused for private means. You can find the new payment information
here: Donation and Payment Information
The work of programming the forums is continuing to progress, but as the functional
requirements are high, the first Installation is unexpectedly delayed another few weeks.
January 3'rd, 2007:
A reader pointed out that our child- and youth protection is
not defined. This was changed with our positional paper: Child and Youth Protection
Work on the forum is making progress. The templates for the layout were
changed fort his reason.
